About Me

From Burnout to Barbells… This is my journey to a healthier life, how I fell in love with the gym, rebuilt my mindset, and now use that passion to help others overcome the same struggles I once faced.

“You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to start.” Is something my family has always told me, and it stuck. Through setbacks, self-doubt, and the hardest days, those words kept me moving. I didn’t begin this journey in shape or confident… I just began.

I Spent 9 Years Behind a Desk

For nearly a decade, I worked in marketing — long hours, very little movement, and plenty of never-ending stress. My own fitness and health wasn’t a priority to me. I always told myself I was “too busy to bother,” with the gym and dieting when the harsh reality was: I just didn’t know where to begin.

Then came the wake-up call, and after a tough breakup that forced me to take a hard look at my life. I realised that I’d been putting everything and everyone else’s needs first, neglected my own needs, and it really showed — physically and mentally (As you can see in the pic, he is not a happy-looking chap).

I wasn’t happy with how I looked or felt at the time. Everyday felt like I struggled for energy to do even the simplest of tasks from having such a poor diet. Every time I saw myself in pictures with friends or glimpsed myself in a mirror, my confidence was instantly sapped.

I decided I needed to make a change. So I did what every broken-hearted guy does. I joined a gym!

The Gym Changed Everything

Well, not straight away… At first, I’ll be completely honest, I really struggled with getting into the gym and starting a new diet. I got the membership, downloaded a nutrition app, made a workout plan, and figured I’d start seeing progress sooner rather than later. Three months into my journey, I had lost a little weight, but my physique looked arguably worse. I appeared "flat," and my energy levels were at an all-time low.

The problem was that no matter how much research I did, every source said something different. One influencer swore by combining cardio and weights, another claimed cardio would ruin my gains. Some praised carbs, while others demonised them. The conflicting advice was endless, and I was left overwhelmed, confused, and frustrated.

That’s when I decided to reach out to a Personal Trainer. And honestly, that’s when everything started to click. I finally had guidance from someone who knew what they were doing, and I had reassurance that I was on the right track. Just having someone to consult when progress stalled, or when I wanted to try a new workout or diet strategy, made all the difference.

That’s when my physique really began to change. I felt far more confident in the gym and in the decisions I was making about food. I also gained mental clarity and was finally able to make sense of the tangled mess of online advice.

I enjoyed the process so much that around 18 months into my journey, I decided to leave my marketing career and pursue a future in fitness.

Now I’m Paying It Forward

In my over 2 years of training now, I’ve achieved all of my goals and more. I’ve lost over 40kg of body fat from my starting point, where I was so self-conscious of my appearance that I never saved photos of myself. I’ve increased my strength massively, almost tripling my squat weight from where I started. And my relationship with food is infinitely better, as I used to let emotional eating consume my life, sticking to comfort foods like cheese and pastries 24/7. If my past self could see the meals I now eat, he wouldn’t believe we were the same person.

So, while my own fitness journey is far from over, and I have all new goals I want to achieve, I now also use what I’ve learned to help others do the same.

I became a Level 3 Personal Trainer because I want to take everything I’ve learned, both from experience and education, and use it to help others avoid the confusion, frustration, and self-doubt I went through.

Whether your goal is weight loss, building strength, or simply feeling better in your own body, I’m here to support you in a way that’s realistic and sustainable, from someone who’s genuinely been in your shoes.

My goal as a coach isn’t just to get you from point A to point B. I want to make sure that by the end of our time together, you feel more confident, capable, and clear on how to continue progressing. I’ll give you the knowledge, structure, and tools to work towards your future goals; and if you ever need support again down the line, I’ll be here to help.
